How it works

Community access & participation across Adelaide

Community participation is about more than getting out of the house - it's about belonging. We support you to take part in the social, recreational and learning activities that matter to you, and to build the confidence and skills to do more independently over time.

We start with your interests and goals, then plan activities and transport around them. Whether that's a weekly group, a sports club, volunteering or simply getting comfortable using public transport, your support worker is right beside you.

What to expect

  • Activities chosen around your interests, goals and comfort level
  • Support to build social confidence and independence step by step
  • Reliable transport to and from activities and appointments
  • Friendly, consistent workers who genuinely get to know you

How it's funded

Community participation is generally funded from your Core Supports budget under "Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation". Capacity Building goals may also support developing new skills and independence.
